Most of my artistic inspiration comes from nature. When I was younger I painted landscapes and old trees. I was inspired by the subtle colors and rough textures of stone. I was intrigued by old weathered walls and structures. I like to replicate this feel and texture in my work.

Coming from a watercolor background I like to paint in layers. I work with a very wet medium for transparency and let the textures and colors build with each layer. I will sand off portions of the piece letting the colors from underneath come through. My work has a depth to it that is hard to capture in photographs.  I like to get the viewer involved, leaving them wanting to reach out and touch the work.

It can take weeks to complete a piece depending on how it evolves. I paint until each layer works together, creating the perfect combination  of composition, color, visual interest and overall impact. It’s an exciting journey and ever changing. I try to use different tools every time I paint. It’s always an experiment to me. I strive to continually grow and push the envelope to create something more dynamic and interesting with every painting.

Product notes:
I only use the highest quality paint and materials in my work. The canvases I use are made of full wood construction and hand crafted by a professional carpenter.  My paintings are made to be hung as-is, framing is optional but not necessary. The edges are flawless and finished in a gloss black. I take the ultimate pride in my art from start to finish. My art will not fade, warp, sag or get punctured. It will truly last forever as a collectors piece.
